About Me

Ryan

Hi, I'm Ryan! I'm a Computer Science & Engineering student with a passion for building things that make an impact—whether that's through machine learning models, full stack applications, or community events.

Outside of the classroom, I love competing in and organizing hackathons. I currently help lead outreach efforts for OHI/O, where I get to support and inspire other students to dive into tech through hands-on events. When I'm not coding, you can probably find me playing volleyball with friends or brainstorming the next side project.

I'm especially interested in machine learning and full stack development, and I'm always looking for opportunities to grow as both an engineer and a teammate.

EyeDentify

BoilerMake XII Roboflow Challenge Winner (February 2025)

Built a real-time web app using a Roboflow-trained computer vision model and React.js to detect signs of eye strain (e.g., redness, puffiness) and notify users to take breaks. Led dataset curation and model training pipeline using Kaggle data, achieving reliable performance and laying the foundation for future integration with blink detection and user analytics.

Market Regime-Based Trading Strategy

SIAM2I/Nationwide Quantathon Winner (March 2025)

Designed and implemented a predictive asset allocation strategy using Python, Random Forests, and logistic regression to classify market regimes and dynamically rebalance equity/bond exposure, achieving a 46.8% return with a Sharpe Ratio of 0.70. Conducted statistical testing, signal engineering (volatility, entropy, bond yield trends), and risk management to outperform buy-and-hold strategies in risk-adjusted terms, reducing drawdown by 50% compared to the S&P 500.
